Kristin Moore, LCSW
When working alongside clients, my primary goal is to make all feel comfortable by providing a welcoming and non-judgmental space. I take time to listen and understand your needs and goals and work with you under the belief that you are the expert to your own life. During sessions, I utilize many therapeutic interventions including, but not limited to; CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), trauma focused, strength based and person centered therapy. While providing insight and feedback, I am able to help those in unfamiliar situations find hope, clarity and purpose in life’s challenging situations.
Kristin is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where she obtained her Master of Social Work degree. Kristin brings with her a wide range of experience working with all ages, from children to adults, in a multitude of settings. In her undergraduate experience, Kristin worked with low-income at-risk families to identify, locate and provide basic necessities. In her senior practicum, Kristin worked alongside families and children in the foster care system to identify and address needs, and provide healing services to all involved. It was during this time that Kristin’s work was recognized and she was awarded the Phylis Lan Lin Award for Excellence in Social Work. As she advanced her education by obtaining her postgraduate degree, she enjoyed working with women in a residential substance abuse treatment facility.
Since then, Kristin also has provided social work services at an inpatient hospital, and more recently at a outpatient mental health facility by providing clinical therapy to children, youth and adults in both office-based and in school settings. Throughout these settings, Kristin has successfully performed mental health assessments, individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy while assisting persons from all walks of life. Kristin enjoys helping clients discover the best in themselves while utilizing strength that they never knew they had.
